Bauchi Deputy Governor Leads Stakeholders as Finance Commissioner Receives ‘Wazirin Giade’ Title

The Bauchi State Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, Yakubu Adamu, has been conferred with the traditional title of Wazirin Giade, in what community leaders describe as recognition of his contributions to the development of traditional institutions and public service in the state.

The title was bestowed during a courtesy visit by the Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, Auwal Jatau, who led a delegation of traditional rulers and other stakeholders from Giade Local Government Area to the commissioner’s office.

Members of the delegation said the decision followed Mr Adamu’s consistent engagement with traditional authorities, as well as his support for cultural heritage and community-based development initiatives across Bauchi State.

They noted that cooperation between government officials and traditional institutions remains important for maintaining social stability and advancing development at the grassroots.

Responding to the honour, Mr Adamu thanked the Deputy Governor, the Giade Traditional Council and members of the delegation, describing the title as a call to greater responsibility.

He said the recognition would further strengthen his commitment to supporting traditional institutions and contributing to development efforts across the state.

The visit ended with prayers for peace, unity and continued development in Giade Local Government Area and Bauchi State, which is marking the 50th anniversary of its creation.
